Job Description :

Expedition CE is currently seeking an Inspector’s Aide to support CEI Inspectors on projects located within Central Florida. As a CEI Inspector’s Aide, your role involves assisting higher level Inspectors in overseeing the contractor's on-site construction activities and inspecting materials to verify adherence to plans, specifications, and other contractual documents. The preferred candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills, collaborative teamwork, and exhibit qualities such as enthusiasm, motivation, honesty, and reliability.

Responsibilities encompass a wide range, including but not limited to :

  • Carries out daily inspection tasks as part of training, preparing to take on inspector responsibilities.
  • Undergoes on-the-job and required agency classroom training to achieve necessary certifications.
  • Observes and documents the progression of civil infrastructure construction projects, including roads, bridges, and stormwater systems.
  • Performs sampling and testing of materials and completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Keeps detailed records of the contractor's daily activities, including manpower, equipment usage, construction methods, and events affecting the work.
  • Monitors the work zone traffic control plan for effectiveness, identifying and addressing discrepancies and potential issues promptly.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess a valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record. As a condition of employment, the selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • Obtain necessary certifications and successfully pass qualification tests relevant to the position within specified time frames.
  • Basic Mathematical Skills
  • Able to work with an iPad and work with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Technical school or Associate's degree
  • Some demonstrated experience in construction inspection.
  • FDOT CTQP Earthwork Level I Certificate
  • FDOT Intermediate MOT Certificate
  • Offered compensation will be based on individual qualifications. The expected range is $17.00 / hour - $21.50 / Hour.

  • High School graduate or equivalent and able to perform basic mathematical calculation and follow simple technical instructions. Duties are to assist higher-level inspectors.
