ASM GLOBAL, the leader in privately managed, public facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Facilities Engineer at ASM GLOBAL-Oakland Arena and RingCentral Coliseum.
The Facilities Engineer maintains and operates building systems and associated equipment during both day-to-day operations and events. This position reports directly to the Chief and Assistant Chief Engineers. The hourly wage is $66.66.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain union membership in good standing.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain environmental controls, emergency power, electrical, HVAC, lighting, and other building systems for safe and efficient facility operation.
- Perform preventive maintenance following manufacturers' recommendations.
- Repair, rebuild, or replace items such as electric motors, engines, compressors, and pumps.
- Operate auxiliary systems like generators, battery backups, transfer switches, and fire pumps as needed.
- Follow energy management, safety procedures, and standard operating protocols.
- Record work performed, complete work orders, and compile reports promptly.
- Assist with arena / stadium conversions for various events.
- Coordinate utility shutdowns and start-ups.
- Work with vendors and contractors on maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and other regulations.
- Operate equipment such as industrial trucks, forklifts, and cleaning machines.

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required.At least 5 years of full-time experience in an engineering-related role or equivalent education and experience.Vocational training in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing is preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Understanding of mechanical, electrical, BMS, and building systems operation and maintenance.Familiarity with operational procedures, industry terminology, and event-related services.Adherence to safety, building codes, and regulations.Ability to organize, prioritize, and work under pressure.Necessary licenses or certifications as per local regulations.Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.Effective communication skills.Ability to work independently and in teams.Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform strenuous physical tasks, including walking extensively, lifting up to 80 pounds, working at heights, and in adverse conditions. PPE use is required in certain areas.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Refrigerant License, NFPA 70E certification, Fire Safety Director, Fire Pump Test certification, etc.Computer Skills
Basic knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and standard office equipment.Work Hours and Travel
