Engineering Specialist, Facilities Maintenance (Mechanical)
Overview
Provide technical expertise, management assistance and team leadership in the Utilities Department for the Mechanical discipline.
Responsibilities
- Interface with management and team members on a daily basis during the installation, startup, operation and maintenance of plant facilities equipment.
- Oversee the preventative maintenance programs and activities for the company to ensure that all mechanical equipment and components are maintained.
- Repair or replace facilities related equipment and components as necessary to ensure continued operation of the facility.
- Provide technical guidance during plant modifications and additions.
- Responsible for management of drawing and document control.
- Order and store spare maintenance and repair parts.
- Assist in the development of maintenance staff training and continuing education.
- Conduct inspections of plant facilities, buildings, plant site, and surrounding areas to ensure conformance to management expectations as well as conformance to all standards and regulations.
- Provide assistance to all levels of management regarding the evaluation of mechanical issues and make recommendations for resolution.
- Work closely with team members on all daily construction and maintenance activities.
- Be familiar with all systems and procedures in order to protect team members, facilities, plant site and equipment.
- Interface with vendors, suppliers, equipment manufacturers, local officials, engineers and any other personnel necessary to install, maintain and operate equipment and facilities to ensure continued production and personnel safety.
- Monitor and report utility costs and assist in managing energy conservation.

Qualifications and Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field along with two (2) to five (5) years of progressive experience in mechanical equipment and component installation, equipment maintenance and facilities maintenance in the industrial and manufacturing environment (preferably automotive), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in both exercising company decisions and carrying out essential job duties that affect efficient business operations and its objectives, policies, practices, and conditions.Must be able to work any shift in all shops.Reasonable accommodations may be made to those who are able to perform the essential duties of the job.
Specialized Skills And Knowledge Required
Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.Experience with SAP system preferred.Knowledge of local construction laws and regulations.Knowledge of pumps, chillers and air compressors.Knowledge and experience with utilities monitoring and maintenance.J-18808-Ljbffr
