Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with extensive nuclear power plant design experience to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing electrical modification packages for nuclear facilities, with a focus on transformers, circuit breakers, switches, protective relaying, and switchyard design
Location and Employment
Location : Central, Texas (1 hour from Fort Worth, Texas). Type : Full-Time, Permanent | Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote). Salary : Commensurate with experience. Industry : Construction / Nuclear.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Responsible Sr. Electrical Engineer for nuclear plant modification projects.
- Perform electrical calculations supporting modification package development.
- Provide field installation support to the clients implementation team.
- Plan and manage electrical work activities to ensure safety, quality, schedule, and budget adherence
- Monitor daily activities, proactively identifying potential issues or opportunities.
- Ensure a clear understanding of project scope and electrical requirements.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of electrical design experience in nuclear plant engineering and designB.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited universityCurrent or recent design qualifications per Standard Design Procedure at a commercial nuclear power plant.Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointU.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain unescorted nuclear plant accessPreferred Qualifications
Knowledge of switchyard design, protective relaying, transformers, circuit breakers, and switchesFamiliarity with IEEE, ISA, and NEMA standardsProfessional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skillsExperience in project team environmentsAbility to conduct field walkdowns and support site activities.Electrical Engineer (Non-senior)
Minimum Experience : 3 to 5 years of related electrical design experience with nuclear plant engineering and design.Professional License : Engineer In Training (EIT) License is PreferredCurrent or recent design qualifications to the Standard Design Procedure at a commercial nuclear power plantDemonstrated knowledge of switchyard design, protective relaying, transformers, circuit breakers and switches.Demonstrated knowledge of IEEE, ISA, and NEMA standardsThis role is ideal for a highly motivated engineer who thrives in nuclear facility projects and is ready to take responsibility for critical electrical design and field support
