Tooling Technician II

The Tooling Technician II is a position within the Tooling Repair department. The Tooling Repair department is responsible for new tooling, existing tooling, and equipment reliability sent to the field for various projects in relationship with contractual and non-contractual obligations. As a Tooling Technician II you are responsible to ensure equipment is functioning safely and limit any shortages for equipment in respective areas. This includes but not limited to electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, pumping, and hoists / crane systems.

Responsibilities :

• Assess risk and verify functionality of equipment released to production.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on tooling equipment and some specialty tools.
• Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
• Safely perform duties related to generating and storing hazardous waste in satellite accumulation areas.
• Use and handle hazardous materials and understand their hazards at various locations using machines and equipment, properly segregate hazardous materials and waste.
• Comply with state and federal regulations for handling, storage, disposal, transport etc. of hazardous materials and waste.
• And all other duties as assigned.
• Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications to determine needed repairs, parts, fabrication, new equipment installs, dimensions and tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Reads and understands, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic prints and symbols.
• Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
• Communicate to warehouse and / or shipping the transport of hazardous materials and waste according to strict regulatory requirements.

Salary Range : $22.50-$29.71
