Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric unit position requiring BLS, PALS, and at least two years of pediatric nursing experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a Pediatric unit within a hospital environment
  • Patient population includes all pediatric diagnoses at a Level 2 pediatric trauma center
  • Float to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is required
  • Day shifts with 12-hour shifts (07 : 00–19 : 30) and every other weekend required
  • Off-floor procedures may include sedation, lumbar puncture, bone marrow, line placement, imaging, and GI procedures
  • Six designated oncology rooms may require occasional oncology patient care, but no chemotherapy administration
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Must float within the hospital as needed
  • Responsible for communication using AIDET and providing great customer service
  • Modules completed during orientation, up to 8 hours billable
  • Participation in holiday coverage with restrictions on number of holidays for requested time off
  • Scrub or dress code requirements not specified—follow facility guidelines
  • Travelers cannot work more than one year (52 weeks) consecutively and must take a one-year break before returning

  • Active WI or Compact RN license required
  • Minimum of 2 years pediatric RN experience
  • Current BLS and PALS (AHA) certifications required
  • Experience with bedside shift reporting (BSSR), AIDET communication framework, and hourly rounding required
  • Strong customer service and professional phone etiquette required
  • Candidates may not reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility
  • APHON certification appreciated but not required
