Description
Verus is seeking a talented professional to lead and manage whole loan sale transactions across non-performing loans (NPL), re-performing loans (RPL), and performing whole loans. This individual will play a key role within the Capital Markets desk, overseeing transaction execution, investor engagement, due diligence, and contract finance. The ideal candidate brings strong transaction management experience in the structured finance or capital markets space, with a proven ability to project manage complex transactions and negotiate legal / contractual frameworks such as Loan Purchase Agreements (LPAs).
This position is hybrid either in Bloomington MN or Washington DC.
Responsibilities and Duties :
Transaction Management : Lead the end-to-end execution of whole loan sales, including NPL, RPL, and performing portfolios.
Investor Engagement : Interface with counterparties, buyers, and internal stakeholders to coordinate transaction processes and timelines.
Documentation Oversight : Manage the drafting, negotiation, and finalization of Loan Purchase Agreements (LPAs) and related deal documents in coordination with legal.
Due Diligence : Oversee loan-level due diligence, data tapes, and vendor coordination to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Project Management : Develop and maintain transaction timelines, identify critical path issues, and ensure successful, timely closings.
Market Intelligence : Monitor market activity, pricing trends, and investor appetite to inform strategic decisions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with legal, operations, accounting, and portfolio management to align transaction goals and execution.
Reporting : Prepare deal summaries, presentations, and reporting packages for management and investors.

Structured Finance Expertise : Prior experience in whole loan, secondary marketing, or structured finance environments.
