SUMMARY :

This position is to be the most experienced and crossed-trained operator on the forming / cutting or the paint / packaging line for the shift. This role will serve as the most senior operator in the field and will be the trainer for all field positions. The incumbents can fill in as the acting supervisor when a supervisor is absent and will give direction to the team. The incumbents of the role have no supervisory authority, but uses their knowledge, skills and experience to train operators and operate the manufacturing line in an efficient, safe, environmentally compliant and professional manner.

PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES :

• Trainer for all shift field positions and control room
• Fill in acting supervisor when supervisor is not present (Giving direction only and reporting issues)
• Be able to perform the duties of the control room (Forming, Cutting and Paint Line)
• Fill in as Waste Treatment Operator
• Replace necessary chemicals as needed
• Make equipment adjustments as needed to ensure proper operation
• Backup for control room positions
• Learn Control Systems of various equipment to be able to operate and troubleshoot when required
• Collect all daily quality sheets
• Corresponds with Quality for concerns in the field along with Supervisor
• Collect all daily check sheets as regards to Cleaning Coating Amount, Etc.
• Manage operational consumables
• Manage and maintain daily round sheets
• Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner

SAFETY :

Understand and follow all safety procedures

o Current on all safety trainings

o Wears all required PPE when necessary (steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear plugs)

Understand and perform Lock Out Tag Out procedures for assigned areas.

Understand and issue Confined Space and Hot Work documents

Perform duties according to OSHA guidelines, policies and procedures

Complete General Plant Safety Training within the first 8 weeks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

Must be able to lift at least 50lbs and to push-pull up to 75lbs.

Must be able to work long periods while continuously standing, twisting, bending, reaching, and stooping.

Must be able to work environment, which is dusty and noisy.

Must be able to work in plant environment with extreme seasonal temperatures.
