Job Description
The Automotive Technician is responsible for diagnosing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and SUVs. This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality, safe, and efficient service. Technicians use digital inspection tools, communicate findings, and collaborate with service advisors and management to ensure vehicles are repaired right the first time and customers stay safe on the road.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive digital vehicle inspections .
- Diagnose and repair :
Brake and steering systems
HVAC systems and engine cooling componentsEngine performance and drivability issuesComplete routine maintenance services (coolant, brake, power steering, transmission flushes, etc.).Conduct state inspections (emissions and safety).Perform wheel alignments , tire rotations, and tire pressure checks.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Document work performed accurately using shop management software.Collaborate with service advisors and management to ensure workflow and communication.Licenses & Certifications
State Vehicle Inspector License – requiredRefrigerant Recovery Certification (ASE or MACA) – preferredASE Certifications – preferredValid Driver’s LicenseJob Requirements
Education & Experience :
High school diploma or equivalentMinimum 3 years of professional experience as an automotive technicianLicensing :
Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving recordSkills & Competencies :
Strong mechanical and diagnostic skillsProficiency with scan tools and shop equipmentAbility to work independently and as part of a teamGood communication and time management skillsWillingness to participate in ongoing training and developmentPhysical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs consistently , and up to 100 lbs occasionallyComfortable working on your feet for extended periodsFrequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and use of hand and power tools
