Description / Summary
Under general direction of the Green County Board of Supervisors, the County Administrator serves as the county's chief administrative officer under State Statute 59.18, and is responsible for directing all managerial and administrative functions of the county, except those functions vested in boards, commissions, or other elected officers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENSTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following :
Coordinate and direct all administrative and management functions of county government (except those vested by law in boards, commissions, or other elected officers, as per Wis. Stats. 59.18(2)(a)).
Appoint and supervise county department heads (excluding elected Constitutional Officers, as per Wis. Stats. 59.18(2)(b)).
Interviewing and hiring
Oversee and direct the fiscal and financial management of the county.
Continuously evaluate the levels of service provided by county departments.
Set and monitor goals and objectives for county departments.
Monitor, review, and keep the county board informed of state and federal legislative, judicial, and administrative developments that may impact the county.
Serve as the chief administrative spokesperson for the county in coordination with the Green County Board Chairperson (chief elected spokesperson).
Prepare the monthly County Board agenda and packet.
Work with the bargaining committee and act as the negotiator for all county bargaining sessions.
Draft resolutions for county board consideration.
Direct, monitor, and enact strategic planning initiatives.
Administer the County Insurance program, including property, liability, public employee bonds, elected official bonds, and workers' compensation.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES This position serves as the direct supervisor of all County Department heads as well as any staff assigned to the County Administrator Department.
