Position is located at Blue Hill Clinic. Work type is full-time with 40 hours per week, scheduled from 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM. The role involves maintaining high-level skill in proper documentation in the electronic medical record, greeting and welcoming all patients, managing all encounters and pertinent consents / forms, and preparing 24 hours in advance for the next business day. It also includes performing reminder calls within 24 hours to patients regarding their appointment date / time, confirming that the patient has pre-registered, or facilitating pre-registration if needed. The job demands executing excellence in customer service.
Responsibilities include practicing the gold standard behaviors, using API and EBT appropriately, dressing appropriately, ensuring appointment descriptions are clear and appropriate, treating people with respect, acknowledging concerns, working together to remove departmental boundaries, maintaining confidentiality of all patient, donor and employee information, demonstrating high level customer service, promoting schedule access, offering map applications to patients that may benefit for financial assistance, performing reminder calls for the next day patients, 24 hours in advance, providing patients with education and access to portal, utilizing EMR to route patient calls, working collaboratively with peers, treating patient and community members with courtesy, fairly, ethically, being a problem solver and following issues to resolution, behaving in a manner that makes you approachable, participating in quality control / performance improvement activities, observing safety rules / regulations / policies and procedures, proper use of BHMH property and equipment, maintaining medical records through scanning and HIM, returning calls / messages within one business day, using appropriate hand hygiene, reminder calls to patients 24 / 48 hours in advance, participation in PCMH / ACO / MU measures, point of care collections at time of service, encounter reconciliation sent to billing daily, balance cash box at end of day, verifies payments and records on the receipt sheet and forwards to billing office, encounter form management, correct PCP, Pharm, DOS.
Competencies and skills include behaving with integrity and building trust, cultivating respect, fostering accountability, and practicing compassion. Education required is a high school diploma / general educational development (GED).
