INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST I

Eddy County, NM

Starting Pay : $25.58 - $28.23 per hour

Responsibilities

• Provide Help Desk functions for computers, email, Internet access, applications, printers, copiers, scanning services, phones, audio / visual equipment, and other computer-related hardware and software.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues; apply problem-solving techniques.
• Maintain computers and peripheral equipment connected to Eddy County's network.
• Maintain confidentiality of secured and sensitive information.
• Demonstrate trustworthiness, self-motivation, attention to detail, and strong customer service skills.
• Work irregular hours, respond to callback requests, and attend job-related meetings and training as required.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required. Technical degree from an accredited school and / or CompTIA, A+, Security+, or Network+ certifications preferred.

Two or more years of experience with computer systems troubleshooting required.

Must successfully pass criminal and employment background investigations. Eligibility to work in the U.S. verified through E-Verify.

Offers contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Must have, or be able to obtain, a current valid NM driver's license and be insurable.

Effective oral and written communication skills in English required. Ability to analyze and interpret various reports and complex information.

Four or more years' experience with Windows platforms. Working knowledge of TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN and WAN.

Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word; working knowledge of Active Directory and Exchange Server.

Ability to protect the network and data using security best practices.

Ability to work well with County IT staff, network users, and the public in a pleasant and professional manner. Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong diagnostic ability and logical, methodical problem-solving approach. Capable of maintaining concentration on repetitive tasks with speed and accuracy. Self-motivated with attention to detail and ability to prioritize work to meet Eddy County deadlines.

Able to recognize, handle, and maintain confidential information.

Ability to perform essential duties as listed above with provided tools, equipment, and materials.
