American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a transplant ICU night shift position in Washington, DC requiring a DC RN license and strong critical care skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Transplant ICU within a hospital settingNight shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30Weekend shifts are included in the rotationNo on-call requirementsFloating required to units of equivalent or lower acuityCare for critically ill transplant patients with diverse, complex needsResponsibilities include management of complex transplant and critical care patients in a high-acuity environmentParticipation in infection prevention and use of isolation precautions requiredPre-employment completion of required online modules; additional training may be provided during orientationPrevious MedStar employees must have a minimum one-year gap before returning as travelersLocal candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rateNo more than eight days of requested time off (RTO) approved within the contract periodScrub or uniform requirements will be communicated during onboardingTwo supervisor references required for consideration\n \n Requirements\n
Active DC RN license required prior to start dateBLS and ACLS certifications requiredMinimum 2 years of ICU experience including dysrhythmia management, multi-system organ failure, IV insulin protocols, GI surgery, renal failure, CVA / stroke management, EVD, hypothermia protocol / Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring, post-neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, respiratory / thoracic care, and infection preventionExperience with isolation precautions, PPE, phlebotomy, surgical wounds with drains, and wound vacs requiredCharge experience preferred\n Benefits\n
