GENERAL SUMMARY
Coordinate the post-deal trading activity, ensuring marine and / or pipeline deliveries of Crude Oil and / or Products are made on a timely and cost-effective manner and in compliance with contractual terms.
MAIN ATTRIBUTIONS
- Communicate on a regular basis with counterparties, terminals and vessels operations regarding all operation activities, ensuring that all necessary operational information is passed on and collected from in a timely manner, documentary requirements are met and all test and operational steps are performed professionally and optimally for the trading business of Petrobras.
- Perform relevant operations, as established by the contract and trader, meeting the quality, time, cost and profit requirements co-operating with the commercial and logistics team members
- Operate under minimum supervision and liaise with counterparties in order to issue all the necessary trading documents, previously reviewing the drafts.
- Process nomination and acceptance of vessels, inspectors and loss control supervisors.
- Liaise with internal and external counterparties, to ensure smooth operations, avoid supply disruption and minimize demurrage costs.
- Prepare and send voyage orders and monitor progress of vessels.
- Manage claims of ancillary costs, such as freight differential, deviation cost, dead-freight, etc. and liaise with the responsible areas in order to monitor progress of their resolutions.
- Ensure all operations activities are conducted in compliance with all relevant Petrobras policies and operating standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide Operations updates to upper management;Supervising Operations Scheduler Level I and II, providing training as needed;Scheduling vessel, barge, and pipeline movements in and out of storage facilities and third-party terminals, which includes making cargo and vessel nominations, preparing and sending voyage orders, documentary instructions and monitoring progress of vessels;Being available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in order to monitor all cargo movements and promptly act under any unforeseen circumstances;Obtaining vessel clearances from terminals and third parties, notifying Chartering Dept. of nomination progress to ensure subjects are lifted within deadlines;Providing AMS information to vessels, and ensuring that required Customs entries are filed prior to cargo delivery, whenever applicable;Renegotiating delivery windows with customers / suppliers to save on demurrage expenses and optimize operation results;Appointing independent inspectors and loss control supervisors to witness operations;Negotiating rates, and authorizing treatment of off-spec cargoes;Exchanging information with Loss Control Department regarding cargo gains and losses, and discussing measures to be taken;Liaising with the credit area, to ensure that all credit requirements are met prior to delivery of cargo;Managing inventory and quality control (i.e. product specifications) of activity at Petrobras storage facilities and third-party terminals in North America and Caribbean;Keeping Demurrage Department advised of operational details which could maximize recovery;Liaising with vessel operators, charterers, and terminals to ensure that operational requirements are met so that any supply disruptions and demurrage costs are minimized;Calculating dead freight and liaising freight differential calculation, as well as ensuring agreement of third parties;Liaising with Back-Office and Petrobras Headquarters to ensure proper documentation is provided for timely invoicing of cargoes;Keeping adequate records to meet the company’s legal and fiscal obligations;Developing and communicating logistical solutions to make deals more economical;Applying commercial understanding of the business and seeking to add value by exercising commercial and logistical deal options embedded within the contracts (e.g. volume tolerances, pricing dates, demurrage, and cargo quantity and quality parameters);Providing support and / or clarification as needed, for the payment of operational expenses;Establishing and / or maintaining good working relationships with Petrobras Headquarters, operations counterparts, storage facility operators, vessel owners, barge companies, terminals, inspectors, and any other contact who plays a key role in the business;Providing backup for other scheduling positions within the cargo scheduling team.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bilingual. Written and verbal fluency in English and Portuguese or Spanish;Expertise in Crude Oil and / or Petroleum Products quality specifications;Extended knowledge of shipping operations and documentation;Extended knowledge of legal issues related to international trading and oil industry best practices, laytime and demurrage, inspections, product quality specifications, Charter Parties, tank gauging, and vessel experience factor;Knowledge of API Standards, Incoterms, and Customs clearance requirements;Ability to calculate, control and monitor prices using reference price quotations published in market publications such as Platt’s, Argus, and OPIS;Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations; to write reports and business correspondence; to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers;Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete and some abstract variables in standardized situations;Previous exposure and ability to work independently within a dynamic, fast-paced trading environment;Communication and team working skills;Highly motivated, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail needed to quickly recognize and solve problems;Highly effective planning and organizational skills in order to meet the Department’s demanding schedules and goals;Minimum 5 years related experience.EDUCATION / CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
