Job Summary :

The Operational Excellence Support Specialist provides Lean and Operational Excellence expertise to support Project Romeo and other critical initiatives. The role focuses on optimizing work center and work cell layouts, creating standard work instructions, deploying visual management tools, and implementing 5S and autonomous maintenance practices. This position accelerates the realization and sustainment of operational excellence benefits while allowing core project teams to focus on production-critical tasks.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Optimize work center layouts by creating performance visual display boards (Tier 1), problem-solving boards, and other visual aids
  • Develop standard work instructions for core processes such as changeovers and start-of / end-of-shift procedures
  • Create visual process aids, including workflow maps, signage, and performance tracking boards
  • Optimize operator work cells through creation of tool shadow boards, point-of-use placement of tools, and workstation surface updates to protect parts
  • Establish and document autonomous maintenance plans and daily / weekly / monthly 5S task assignments
  • Assess ergonomic risks and implement appropriate solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Optimize value streams by creating and updating Tier 2 and Tier 3 visual display boards and value stream maps
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to standardize workflow, processes, and visual management tools
  • Perform additional duties as directed to support Project Romeo and the S+N Operating System

Required Skills & Experience :

  • Demonstrated experience in Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, or Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Experience creating visual management tools, standard work instructions, and 5S / auditable processes
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project execution skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with ergonomic assessment and workstation optimization
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Experience supporting large-scale operational improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of autonomous maintenance programs and work cell optimization techniques
  • Education :

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
