Job Title : Lead Process Technician 2nd Shift

Location : Prism Plastics Chesterfield, MI

Shift : 2nd Shift | Monday Friday | 3 : 00 PM 11 : 00 PM W / Overtime as needed

Pay : $25 $29 per hour (based on experience)

About the Role

Prism Chesterfield is seeking an experienced Lead Process Technician to oversee 2nd shift production operations. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, reliable, and capable of managing a small team while ensuring top-quality production and smooth plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties :

Supervise and manage 2 3 employees on 2nd shift.

Ensure a safe, clean, and efficient work environment .

Perform tool pulls, mold setups, and startups / shutdowns .

Oversee daily production to maximize Good Parts Per Hour (GPPH) .

Maintain FIFO inventory control and monitor materials for upcoming shifts.

Ensure product quality by following established control plans, SPC charting, and process limits .

Conduct shift hand-offs effectively, ensuring the next shift is set up for success.

Complete employee evaluations and participate in manufacturing and quality meetings.

Continuously look for ways to improve processes and efficiency .

Secondary Duties :

Assist in developing and improving new molding processes (including robot programming and tooling setup).

Support quality assurance through inspections, GR&R studies, and Cpk studies.

Aid in warehouse operations , including material movement and equipment maintenance.

Support other related activities to maintain a clean, safe, and effective organization .

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience , preferably in plastics.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Proven ability to perform mold changes and setup independently.

Robotics / automation experience preferred.

Basic computer literacy and understanding of inventory systems .

Excellent attendance and dependability .

Must be willing to cover other shifts during vacations .

Education

High School Diploma or GED required.

Additional computer training, robotic / automation training , and Decoupled Molding (R.J.G.) certification preferred.
