• Site Safety Manager Location : Blythewood, SC Employment Type : Full-Time, Project-Based About the Role Jennings Air and Mechanical has an immediate opening for a Site Safety Manager to oversee all safety programs, policies, and procedures for a large industrial plumbing project near Columbia, SC.
• This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company safety standards, to maintain a safe working environment for all employees, subcontractors, and visitors on site.
• Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and manage the project-specific Safety Plan in accordance with OSHA, state, and company requirements.
• Conduct daily job site safety inspections, hazard assessments, and corrective actions as needed.
• Lead daily toolbox talks and weekly safety meetings with crews and subcontractors.
• Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with safe work practices and project-specific safety requirements.
• Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records, including training logs, inspection reports, and incident documentation.
• Serve as the on-site point of contact for all safety-related matters, liaising with project managers, supervisors, and regulatory agencies.
• Conduct onboarding and safety orientation for all new employees and subcontractors.
• Enforce use of PPE and verify proper permitting for hot work, confined spaces, and other high-risk activities.
• Support a proactive safety culture through coaching, positive reinforcement, and consistent communication.
• Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing safety on construction sites, preferably in industrial or plumbing / mechanical projects.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 standards and state / local safety regulations.
