Psychological Services Associate, Corrections - SCI Coal Township

THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections (DOC), State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Coal Township is seeking a highly motivated Psychological Services Associate to join our Psychology Department. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Psychological Services Associates (PSA), you will be providing psychological services under the direct clinical supervision of a Licensed Psychologist Manager (LPM). The purpose of this service delivery is to ensure individuals' mental health and general emotional needs are addressed efficiently and effectively during their period of incarceration. You will be assisting the LPM with planning and organizing mental health and psychological services, such as group counseling to address, re-socialization, prison adjustment, offense specific behaviors, treatment plan goals, and / or specific skills such as relaxation training, anger management skills, and sleep hygiene. Work involves conducting interviews and evaluations to determine preliminary course of action, preparing case formulations, compiling behavior modification plans, as well as assisting with research studies to maximize effectiveness of programs offered at the institution. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with staff, other agencies, and state mental health facilities in order to ensure inmates receive the most effective delivery of services.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM, Sunday - Thursday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework : You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary : Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $63,301.00 (before taxes).
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

• Note : Additional pay will be considered for those who currently possess or obtain licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, or Professional Counselor issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Counselors. Documentation will need to be provided at interview to receive additional pay consideration.
