Overview

Senior Web Developer — Contract (ongoing) / Fully Remote (U.S.)

Must be eligible for U.S. Government security clearance or hold an active clearance. No C2C or subcontracting on this opportunity.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Web Developer to support, maintain, and enhance mission-critical government applications. These applications are built on legacy platforms including IIS, Classic ASP, and Perl , with newer components migrated to Python-based services . This role is fully remote and requires a detail-oriented developer with strong problem-solving skills, experience in legacy system support, and the ability to work in secure, compliance-driven environments.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing ASP and Perl-based web applications hosted on IIS.
  • Develop new modules, scripts, and integrations using Perl and Python .
  • Support modernization initiatives by migrating legacy features to Python-based APIs and services .
  • Configure, manage, and optimize IIS web applications and application pools .
  • Ensure code is secure, efficient, and well-documented in accordance with government standards.
  • Support data processing workflows, batch jobs, and reporting tools.
  • Participate in regular code reviews, documentation, and knowledge transfer sessions.

Qualifications

  • Must be eligible for U.S. Government security clearance or hold an active clearance.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in web development.
  • Hands-on experience with IIS administration and configuration .
  • Strong knowledge of Classic ASP (VBScript / JScript) for legacy application maintenance.
  • Proficiency in Perl scripting for automation and data processing.
  • Working experience with Python for backend development and modern integration projects a plus.
  • Understanding of SQL databases.
  • Familiarity with secure coding practices and government compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of migration strategies from legacy systems to modern platforms .
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI / CD pipelines.
