Description

Cake Artists assemble and prepare soft serve and Blizzard cakes, including decorating with icing, gel, drawings, decorating kits, air brush, edible images, and letterings. They ensure all cake products meet the Dairy Queen standards of quality and excellence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and decorate cake products according to customer specifications and all applicable standards and procedures.
• Properly and safely operate and maintain cake and soft serve equipment while following all health and safety standards.
• Maintain an adequate inventory of decorated cakes at all times, including backup cakes during holidays, promotions, and peak occasions.
• Keep the display freezer full with a variety of attractively displayed cakes.
• Conduct sampling and actively sell products.
• Take and fill customer cake orders in a professional and timely manner.
• Be pleasant and attentive to customer needs.
• Work as a team member to ensure quality, service, cleanliness, and value for each customer.
• Keep the work area and equipment clean and sanitary using the PRIDE cake area checklist.
• Perform cleaning tasks such as washing counters, tables, restrooms, and trash removal.
• Occasionally work outside the building for maintenance and cleaning activities.
• Promptly inform supervisors of any significant problems or unusual matters.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must exhibit exceptional decorating skills, including gel, icing, air brushing, decorating kits, edible images, floral, and licensed character designs, demonstrated through a portfolio. Cake decorator certification is strongly preferred. Must perform well under pressure in a high-volume environment, follow instructions accurately, and meet health regulations. Excellent customer service skills, good manners, hygiene, a positive attitude, and promptness are essential. Must be eligible to work in the United States. Most importantly, contribute to a fun and friendly culture that values productivity and teamwork.
