Our client is a fast-growing technology-forward real estate company focused on redefining the way people live in multifamily communities. They are building a next-generation platform to enable seamless, connected, and elevated living experiences. Technology is core to their strategy, and they are deeply committed to engineering excellence, operational reliability, and innovation at scale.

They're seeking a Platform Engineering Manager to lead their infrastructure and platform strategy. This is a highly visible role where you'll drive the evolution of cloud infrastructure, enable high-velocity product development, and cultivate a culture of technical rigor and operational excellence. If you're an experienced leader who thrives at the intersection of infrastructure, developer experience, and engineering culture, this is a chance to build and scale something foundational from the ground up.

What You'll Do

  • Shape Platform Strategy : Own the vision and execution for platform engineering and infrastructure systems—balancing speed, stability, cost, and scalability
  • Lead & Grow a Team : Hire, mentor, and develop a team of platform engineers. Foster a high-trust culture where engineers are empowered to take ownership and innovate
  • Drive Automation & Infrastructure-as-Code : Lead initiatives to build self-service infrastructure, CI / CD pipelines, and scalable, resilient systems using modern DevOps practices
  • Champion Reliability : Establish and maintain reliability metrics (SLIs / SLOs), build observability frameworks, and lead incident response processes to ensure uptime and performance
  • Enable Developer Productivity : Build internal tooling and automation that improve deployment workflows, system visibility, and ease of development
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally : Work closely with product engineering, security, and operations stakeholders to anticipate needs, reduce friction, and deliver scalable solutions
  • Address Tech Debt Proactively : Identify infrastructure weaknesses and bottlenecks before they become blockers—focusing on long-term maintainability and scalability
  • Elevate Engineering Excellence : Promote high standards in operational readiness, system design, and documentation across the organization

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or site reliability engineering
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience with a track record of hiring and mentoring technical teams
  • Deep understanding of cloud-native architecture and technologies (GCP, AWS, or Azure), Kubernetes, containers, and IaC tools like Terraform
  • Proven success improving the reliability and performance of large-scale production systems
  • Strong background in CI / CD workflows, observability tools, incident management, and automation
  • Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills—you can navigate technical and non-technical conversations with ease
  • Experience in high-growth or product-driven organizations, where infrastructure needs to scale with speed and reliability
  • A leadership style rooted in trust, transparency, and a shared commitment to quality
