Position Overview :

The Event Planner Assistant will work closely with the Event Planning team to support the planning and execution of the Foundation’s events. This position is primarily remote, with some in-person responsibilities on event days. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as experience in coordinating events.

Key Responsibilities :

Assist the Event Planning team in the development of event timelines, schedules, and logistics.

Create and / or place orders for event materials, such as flyers, decorations, and supplies.

Contact and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

Ensure smooth execution of events by coordinating schedules and managing day-of logistics.

Collaborate with the Social Media team to provide event information and promotional materials, ensuring all materials are approved by the CEO, Heather Bankhead, prior to release.

Attend planning meetings via Zoom and participate in, in-person activities on designated event days.

Qualifications :

Experience in event planning or project management is preferred.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Comfortable with remote work and proficient in using online collaboration tools (Zoom, Google Drive, etc.).

Flexibility to attend in-person events on select days throughout the year.

Passion for non-profit work and a commitment to supporting children and families affected by childhood cancer.
