We are seeking Montenegrin Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Montenegrin, part of the South Slavic language group, is a rare Balkan language needed in immigration and asylum interviews.
Responsibilities
Provide real-time Montenegrin English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.Interpret accurately, neutrally, and professionally in immigration, legal, and administrative contexts.Adhere to USCIS / DHS confidentiality and interpreter ethics standards.Handle both scheduled and urgent / surge assignments.Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits.Qualifications
Native or near-native fluency in Montenegrin and English.2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, healthcare, community, or government preferred).Knowledge of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.Strong telephone communication skills and ability to remain accurate under pressure.Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3 / Tier 5 federal clearance.Compensation & Benefits
