Head of Digital Workplace
The Head of Digital Workplace will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our digital workplace strategy. This role involves leading a team to drive continuous improvement in our digital tools and platforms, ensuring they align with business objectives and enhance the overall employee experience. You will work closely with other regional digital domains, European teams, and external vendors to ensure our Digital workplace is reliable, secure, and scalable to meet our evolving business needs.
Primary responsibilities include :
The scope includes all Digital Airbus Divisions and Domains within North America (US and Canada). As a senior leader you will need to operate within the Airbus Global environment, building a global network, sharing best practices and experiences, reviewing and when necessary integrating Airbus Central policies to drive continual improvement throughout North America Digital.

Qualified Education, Experience, Certification and Training :
Education : Required Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology or equivalent relevant experience in the field in lieu of degree. ITIL Foundation Preferred NA
Experience : Required Deep understanding of modern workplace technologies and trends, including cloud services, collaboration platforms, and digital asset management. Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels. Minimum of 15+ years in Digital roles such as solution and infrastructure architecture, project management, business analysis, system design, software development. Experience of Change Management where you have had to implement new practices within an organization. Preferred NA
License / Certifications : Preferred Project management certification e.g. PMP, SCM, or Safe ITIL certifications preferred
Travel Required : Both domestic (within North America) and occasionally international to Europe.
Citizenship : Authorized to Work in the Canada / Authorized to work in the USA Clearance : NA
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities : Required Strong leadership experience in a transnational environment. This is key to successfully supporting the teams and ensuring alignment for deliveries according to plan. Able to create a positive team and community spirit and effective communication Excellent stakeholder management skills Ability to work under pressure and in crisis situations Experience in operational management with short lead-times as well ability to set-up and implement strategies Experience in transformation and continuous improvement Strong Experience in Product Lifecycle Management Preferred NA
Communication Skills : Required Leadership experience of organisation beyond 50 team members Fluency in English is mandatory Strong interpersonal skills. Solid writing and presentation skills. Preferred German or French language skills could be helpful (but not necessary)
Technical Systems Proficiency : Required Proficient in Digital Workplace technologies Knowledge of Digital processes and tools : including ITSM processes and specifically Enterprise Architecture, Project Management methodologies (Waterfall, Fast track, Agile, SAFe) Service Management, Resource Management, Budgeting, and Risk Management. Preferred NA
Environment Complexity : Highly complex environment composed of 3 divisional entities not yet integrated and spread out across the North America region on more than 23 sites. Most of these entities have a dependency with Airbus Europe & India therefore requiring coordination across all 3 continents. International environment with very different cultures and mind-sets. Diverse company infrastructure requirements with highly complex products : commercial and military aircraft, commercial and military helicopters, satellites, launchers. Digital Projects either own or supports all business activities represented in the North America perimeter : Sales & Marketing, Customer Services, Spares, MRO, Training, Programs, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Quality, Engineering, Corporate Functions (HR, Finance, Procurement, Communication, Legal, Facilities, etc).
Organizational information : Reports to the Ho Digital Direct Reports : Is this a people manager? Yes - Minimum 12 - Direct Reports 40 - Contractors There will be a need to expand the team to meet demand.
Job Dimensions : Responsible for all Airbus Digital Infrastructure the entire North America region : Entities : 4 Sites : 25+ ~$21M budget Nature of Contacts : Daily communication with all Digital North America Regular communication with Customers, Airbus Digital Central Physical Requirements : Onsite or remote : Office location 3 out of 5 days per week Vision : Ability to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports. DAILY Hearing : Daily able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone. DAILY Speaking : Daily able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. DAILY Equipment Operation : Daily use of personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors. Carrying : Daily able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs. Sitting : Daily able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on a computer. DAILY Standing : Daily able to stand for discussions in offices or on a production floor DAILY. Travel : 10% of time able to travel independently and at short notice. Walking : Daily able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. DAILY Personal Protective Equipment required : If visiting a factory - Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators / Masks, and / or Protective Gloves as required by site and / or customer site
