Core Responsibilities : Championing Member Financial Health
The Teller is the primary front-line representative of our credit union's mission , responsible for delivering exceptional service while ensuring the highest levels of accuracy and compliance. This role is a vital point of engagement and trust.
- Financial Consultation and Service Delivery : Accurately and efficiently execute all member financial transactions, including managing deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, and processing specialized services like money orders and wire transfers according to established procedures.
- Member Relationship Management : Warmly greet every member to create an inviting atmosphere. Proactively engage members in consultative conversations to identify financial needs, offering timely referrals to relevant credit union services (e.g., new deposit accounts, loan products, financial planning).
- Operational Excellence : Maintain and balance a cash drawer daily, performing necessary cash management duties (buying / selling cash to the vault). Accurately process night deposits and adhere to all internal security and compliance protocols.
- Team Collaboration : Actively participate in team success by completing assigned tasks and supporting managers with miscellaneous duties, ensuring the branch operates smoothly and efficiently for both members and staff.
Qualifications for Success : What you bring to the Table
Experience & Education : A minimum of six months of recent cash handling and customer service experience is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory. Previous Teller experience is a definite plus!Technical Proficiency : Must be proficient and comfortable navigating a Microsoft Windows-based operating system for daily tasks.Aptitude for Service : Demonstrated ability to provide proactive, relationship-focused service, including expert cash handling skills combined with a high degree of transaction accuracy and efficiency.Communication & Focus : Excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to actively listen to members, articulate information clearly, and identify potential financial needs while comfortably managing a busy, fast-paced setting (multitasking).Essential Competencies for Success
