Role Description
We are looking for a flex Medical Assistant / Patient Representative who is passionate about delivering patient-centered care and supporting an interdisciplinary care team in a busy women's health practice. You will play a critical role in ensuring smooth day-to-day practice operations in addition to managing a range of clinical and administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate is excited about the
opportunity to deliver a clinically and operationally excellent and compassionate patient experience for women and their families.
Patient Representative Responsibilities
- You are the first person our clients see when they walk through the door. You provide a warm, welcoming face of the practice, greeting and supporting clients from our welcome desk. You :
- Provide warm client interactions
- Take care of client check in and out, answering questions and disseminating information to appropriate team members as necessary
- Provide waiting area tours to new clients, orienting them to our space, making them feel welcome and at home
- Ensure paperwork, consents, and insurance information is collected and complete
- Managing the client schedule :
- You know the schedule front to back / inside and out, and can work through schedule efficiencies based on the flow of the day as well as client and provider needs
- You anticipate schedule needs days and weeks in advance
- You schedule client appointments in real-time as well as those made through our online platform
- Insurance, payment, and billing :
- Perform verification of benefit checks with insurance companies
- Manage and collect client copays and payment balances
- Discuss and set up payment plans with client
- Front of the house management :
- Work with the team to ensure the office is ready, set up, and prepared for the day
- Collaborate on inventory, keeping the office pristine, and other tasks as they arise
- Manage phone triage as necessary, coordinating between team members
Medical Assistant Responsibilities
Support provider workflows to ensure smooth operations, including :Room patients, including taking vital signs and ensuring intake information iscorrectly listed in patient charts
Turnover rooms at the end of visits, including cleaning and sterilizing equipmentafter use
Support providers during in-office gynecological procedures and examsOther clinical duties as requestedAssist with drawing and interpretation of patient labs, including :Blood drawsPoint-of-care (POC) tests (e.g. UPT, COVID, influenza, glucose, etc.)Vaccine administrationSupport operational processes to ensure a clean and high-functioning space :Maintain clinical inventory list ensuring its up to date and we always haveadequate medical supplies
Stock exam rooms and procedure rooms with medical supplies, linens, etc.Support with medical records managementAssist with light housekeeping dutiesAdhere to established practice policies and procedures and follow state andfederal regulations
Qualifications
High School Diploma / GED1+ years relevant experience in the healthcare field preferredCMA and phlebotomy certifiedStrong computer skills and familiarity with EMRsProficiency with Google Suite or Microsoft Office ProductsTendency to organize and create structure in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentBenefits
