Home Health Aide - Tuscarawas County

Schedule : 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm

Alongside Tuscarawas County, the caregiver in this role may need to travel to Harrison, Holmes, Stark, Coshocton and Carroll counties.

This is a part-time position. A caregiver in this role will work Monday through Friday, 2-3 days per week, between 8 : 00am to 5 : 00pm. No weekend or holiday requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will :

  • Perform basic patient care activities.
  • Assist with procedures ordered by physician, with supervision from an RN, PT, OT or ST as appropriate.
  • Assist patients with tending to personal care, activities of daily living and transfers / transport.
  • Report and document abnormal assessment findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  • Assist with keeping the patient's environment clean and orderly.
  • Maintain complete and up-to-date documentation and files at all times regarding patient condition and effectiveness and timeliness of care and interventions.
  • Escalate change in patient condition to patients physician as appropriate.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include :

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) Certification with the State of Ohio Nurses Aide Registry
  • One year of clinical experience as an Aide in an acute, rehab or skilled nursing setting
  • Valid Drivers License (VDL) in Ohio and proof of $100,000 / $300,000 automobile insurance coverage
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross within orientation period
  • Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include :

  • Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse Assistant (CHPNA) Certification

  • Physical Requirements :

  • Must be ambulatory, able to climb stairs, pull, push, and facilitate movement of the patient.
  • For field staff only : Able to drive to patients homes and / or facilities.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and / or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
  • Personal Protective Equipment :

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
