Certified Nursing Assistant
Position Summary
Assist in the care of Rehab and Transistional care patients with a primary focus on activities of daily living under the direction of a nurse. The CNA will preform and document vital signs, intake and output, glucose monitoring, and other patient care duties. The CNA will assist with providing patient activities under the direction of an activities director.

Experience
1 Year - Required
License & Certification
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
Core Job Functions
- Proper safety procedures are utilized to ensure patient and staff safety are utilized. Verbally reports abnormal vital signs or other abnormal assessments to a nurse. Follows policies and procedures and physician's orders.
- Performs bedside glucose testing. Accurately records results according to standard operating procedure. Quality Control (QC) and maintenance performed and documented.
- Utilize interpersonal and therapeutic communication skills when interacting with patients, families, and members of the Provider and RN. Communicates relevant, accurate, and complete information.
- Training is completed on all safe handling devices. Assesses the patient to determine the most appropriate lift equipment to use on a specific patient. Lift assist devices are used on all needed transports.
- Call lights and phones are answered in an efficient and professional manner and messages are communicated to the appropriate person. Work area is kept organized and clean.
- Adheres to safety policy wearing protective equipment while cleaning and reports any needed repairs directly to charge nurse. Follows Isolation Precautions per policy. Trash and linens are bagged per policy and placed in soiled utility room, cleans and sanitizes all equipment and as needed to include stretchers, wheelchairs, carts, IV poles etc.
