Edgewood College is hiring : Lecturer – Design in Madison

The Fine and Performing Arts Department of Edgewood University is seeking applicants for a full-time Lecturer position beginning January preferred, possible deferral until August 2026, to teach foundational and advanced design courses in our Arts programs, particularly our Graphic and Web Design majors. The person in this role will also be responsible for working collaboratively to develop and manage these programs to ensure they align with the skills job seekers need to thrive in today’s digital and AI-driven world. This may include transitioning courses or entire programs to online formats, and / or developing community partnerships and facilitating and supervising internship placements.

Responsibilities :

• Offer undergraduate courses that include some combination of Graphic Design, Web Design, and / or other design-based courses; contribute to curriculum development in specialty area.
• Prepare graduates for success upon graduation through professional mentorship and preparation in our Senior Seminar course.
• Maintain, manage, and grow our outreach activities, including pathway agreements and internships in Design.
• Advise students, provide timely feedback on learning assessments and portfolios
• Participate in college committee work, including assessment work, and engage in the responsibilities of a full-time faculty appointment, including Arts events organized in the Department.
• Communicate (in person and with institutional email platform) with department chairs and leadership.
