Quality Control Manager
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control (QC) Manager to support a federal construction project located at China Lake Naval Air Weapons Station. The QC Manager will be responsible for overseeing all quality assurance and control activities, ensuring compliance with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers EM 385-1-1, contract specifications, and project-specific quality requirements. This role demands a highly organized professional with strong communication skills and hands-on experience managing quality processes on federal or military construction sites.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Three Phases of Quality Control (Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-Up) in accordance with federal construction standards.
- Review and approve submittals, RFIs, and transmittals, ensuring full compliance with design specifications and government requirements.
- Utilize the eCMS (Electronic Construction Management System) for document control, quality tracking, and reporting.
- Conduct daily site inspections to monitor construction activities, ensuring compliance with contract specifications, approved submittals, and safety requirements.
- Develop and maintain QC documentation, including daily reports, inspection checklists, test logs, and deficiency logs.
- Coordinate with the Superintendents, SSHO, and government representatives during quality meetings and inspections.
- Verify and document all testing, inspections, and corrective actions.
Essential Skills
Minimum 5 years of experience, with at least 2 years on federal or military projects.Strong working knowledge of the Three Phases of QC, federal construction documentation, and quality procedures.Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and technical specifications.Proficiency with computers.Ability to travel and stay on-site during the project duration.Familiarity with NAVFAC and DoD standards.Prior experience with roofing, demolition, or structural repair projects.24-hour Fall Protection Competent Person certification.Experience working with Synergy Electric or other government prime contractors.Work Environment
The project is located at the China Lake Naval Air Weapons Station, requiring travel and on-site presence during the project duration. The work involves roofing and demolition tasks. The typical schedule is Monday to Friday, usually from 7 am to 4 pm. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00 / hr.
