University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus\n\nDepartment : Community Practice\n\nJob Title : Registered Nurse - Float\nPool\n\nPosition # : 00837152 – Requisition\n# : 37249\n\nJob Summary : \n\nThe Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality support to\nphysicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) in meeting the\noperational needs of the practice and the medical needs of the\npatient. The RN assesses and evaluates patient conditions, and then\nplans, implements, provides, and documents patient care in a manner\nthat follows professional nursing standards and outlined\npractices.\n\nKey Responsibilities : \n

  • Escorts patients to and from exam rooms and readies them for\nphysicians\n
  • Performs telephone triage, patient education, handling of\nphysician phone calls, and pharmacy calls\n
  • Takes vital signs, records medical history / symptoms, and\nensures medical chart / lab test results are available and\ncomplete\n
  • Administers immunizations and minor treatments as\nprescribed\n
  • Respond to patient questions and concerns as a liaison between\nphysician and patient\n

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program through the\nAccreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or\nAmerican Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC).\n\nIntermediate Level : \n
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program through the\nAccreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or\nAmerican Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC).\n
  • Two (2) years of Nursing experience.\n\nSenior Level : \n
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program through the\nAccreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or\nAmerican Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC)\n
  • Four (4) years of Nursing experience.\n
  • Substitution : A combination of education and related\ntechnical / paraprofessional experience may be substituted on a\nyear-for-year basis.\n\nPreferred Qualifications (All Ranks) : \n
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).\n
  • One to two or more (1-2+) years of job-related / clinic\nexperience\n
  • Bilingual, Spanish-speaking.\n
  • Nursing certification (ANCC) in specialty area.\n
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.\n
  • Epic, Kronos, and HealthStream experience.\n\nConditions of Employment : \n
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers\nissued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross\nhealthcare provider level CPR certification.\n
  • Registered Nurse (RN), State of Colorado.\n
  • Maintains all required licensure and certifications for the\nposition.\n
  • Maintains all required continuing education requirements.\n
  • Must be able to work in person.\n
  • Must be able to travel to alternate locations as assigned.\n\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities : \n
