Job Details

  • RN position in MSIC (Medical-Surgical Intensive Care) unit at Lutheran Hospital.
  • Candidates must be competent in managing care of the highest level of acuity patients, with a background in neuro / trauma.
  • Orientation includes hospital-based learning classes and unit-specific training with preceptor RNs.
  • Experience required : 3 years of ICU RN experience or more.
  • Patient ratio typically 2 : 1, occasionally 3 : 1 for stable patients on a rotating basis.
  • Floating to other units is required.
  • Unit has 34 beds.
  • EMR system used is Cerner.
  • Dept scrub color is Navy.

    • Job Requirements

  • Must have BLS certification.
  • Must have ACLS certification.
  • Must have NIH certification.
  • Must have a valid state nursing license (Indiana).
  • Travelers must attach required license and certifications or will be rejected.
  • Travelers must be greater than 50 miles from facility; local candidates not accepted.

    • Schedule Information

  • Shift : Days, 5 AM to 5 PM.
  • Duration : 13 weeks.

    • Unit Specific Information

  • Unit : MSIC (Medical-Surgical Intensive Care) and includes exposure to trauma ICU and neuro ICU.
  • Orientation includes time on MSIC (3rd floor trauma ICU) and ICU4 (4th floor neuro ICU).
  • Floating to other units is required.
  • Patient ratio 2 : 1, occasionally 3 : 1 for stable patients.
