Overview (Duties include, but are not limited)

• Must be competent and qualified to perform inpatient Gastroenterology consultations.
• Must be competent and qualified evaluate patients in the outpatient Gastroenterology clinic.
• Must be competent and qualified to perform special procedures such as : Diagnostic EGD, Snare Polypectomy, Variceal Hemostasis, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy, Liver Biopsy, Total Colonoscopy, Nonvariceal Hemostasis, PEG, Esophageal Dilation with Guidewire, and Paracentesis.
• Shall participate in quality management and utilization review activities, as needed, clinical conferences for staff and shall attend medical staff and service-level meetings, as required.
