Job purpose

The Mental Health Counselor will provide assessment and individual / group counseling sessions to ensure the behavioral health needs of those needing such services are effectively and efficiently served.

Duties and responsibilities

• Assist with Open Access and the initial referral process
• Complete assessment with diagnosis to explain medical necessity of treatment
• Help clients define goals, plan action and gain insight
• Encourage clients to discuss / examine emotions and experiences
• Work with families
• Help clients achieve identified goals
• Develop therapeutic processes
• Refer clients to other necessary services
• Work with individuals, groups and communities to improve behavioral health
• Take a holistic approach to behavioral health care
• Complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner
• Complete other duties as required by the position and / or as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer

Qualifications

PLPC / LPC Pay range is 45,000 - 68,000

LMSW / LCSW Pay range is 54,000 - 78,000

Psychologist Pay range is $76,000 - $100,000

Working conditions

Remote is available

General Conditions- Work is generally performed in office type settings where answering phone and using computers and other technology should be expected.

No special conditions apply.

Physical requirements

General Conditions- Job duties may require sitting or standing for long periods of time. Travel, with some trips requiring several hours in a vehicle, should be expected. Minor lifting and moving may be expected requiring ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
