Responsibilities Assignment is in an ICU / CCU setting at a hospital Night shifts with a schedule of 3x12 hours (19 : 00–07 : 00) Float between units is required Every third weekend coverage required Care for a range of critical care cases including surgical, multi-system organ failure, CVA / acute stroke, and ventilated patients Use of advanced monitoring and equipment including Swan Ganz, ICP monitoring, CVVHD / CRRT, ECMO, Arctic Sun / Hypothermia protocol, BiPAP / CPAP, ventilators, and wound vacs Responsibilities include managing complex patients requiring advanced monitoring and multi-organ support Pre-employment modules and orientation training are required and may vary by specialty Must adhere to all infection prevention and isolation protocols Return staff policy applies : former staff must be gone at least one year to be eligible as a traveler Up to seven days of requested time off is preferred during the 13-week contract, with no time off allowed in the first two weeks Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are accepted at a different rate Holiday coverage may be required according to the department needs Requirements Active MD or compact RN license required at time of consideration Minimum 2 years of recent ICU / CCU experience required Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required Experience in surgical intensive care and with procedures such as 12-lead EKG, arterial / central / PICC line management, titration of cardiac drips, blood product administration, and emergency medication administration Competency in ventilator management, infection prevention, isolation precautions, and wound care Must provide two supervisor references from within the last two years Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-625801.
