Bolton & Menk has an exciting opportunity for a Survey Field Technician to join our Cedar Rapids or Des Moines office! In this role, you’ll spend approximately 90% of your time in the field and 10% in the office, supporting a variety of projects. Your fieldwork will include tasks such as construction staking, boundary surveys, ALTA / NSPS land title surveys, and topographic mapping. This is a full-time position with benefits; subject to seasonal layoff.

What You Will Be Doing :

• Perform field assignments for land surveying scopes of work including construction staking, boundary location, ALTA / ASCM, topography surveys and performing routine survey / engineering computations for various project types
• Collect and process field measurements and data for engineering and surveying projects
• Operate survey instruments, such as total stations, data collectors, levels, and GPS equipment, and resolve operation issues
• Research existing survey and engineering records
• Transfer files between data collectors and internal company project folders
• Maintain company vehicle and company equipment in a clean, professional manner
• Maintain productive working relationships with all clients and coworkers
