Summary :  Review all bid request documents and prepare cost estimates to determine proposal prices of products and / or services for potential future business.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Obtains customers via telephone, email or walk-in to generate opportunities for bidding on jobs.
  • Maintains client relations by being lead contact of proposal for customers.
  • Attends job walks.
  • Reviews invitations to bid for applicable scopes of work.
  • Performs routine quantity take-offs and calculations.
  • Assures company can perform specified jobs by evaluating job information.
  • Contacts vendors / sub-contractors for quotes, qualifications and other information as required.
  • Responsible for the acknowledgement, gathering, logging and tracking of incoming bids and project opportunities from customers.
  • Answers questions regarding bid process and basic project queries.
  • Communicates in a clear, concise manner via verbal and written form with employees, vendors, and customers to ensure comprehension.
  • Prepares the necessary bid or proposal documents for timely distribution and submission.
  • Requests additional information from customers and vendors as needed.
  • Submits job estimates to management on a timely basis.
  • Provides estimates for jobs that result in company profits.
  • Works with appropriate company personnel and ensures all information given in bid documents is readily available when a job is awarded.
  • Communicates, coordinates, or directs the customer’s needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Reviews, communicates, and evaluates time frames for awarded jobs.
  • Meets with current and potential customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Prepares and maintains historical data for evaluation of company labor production and recommend necessary adjustments for profitability and competitive advantages.
  • Evaluates budget compliance and makes suggestions as appropriate.
  • Essential Function

Qualifications :

Education / Experience :

Associates degree; and four to six years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior erosion control or SWPP and project management experience is helpful.

Certificates and Licenses :

Valid Driver's License

Language Ability :

Ability to read and interpret documents such as bid requirements, project plans, material requirements, estimates, wage requirements, etc. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, vendors, or employees of organization.

Math Ability :

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills :

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge and the ability to effectively use computer programs and applications

($72,000.00 - $87,000.00 per year + 2% every 6 months)
