Responsibilities Work in the NICU of a short-term acute care teaching hospital Level III neonatal intensive care with a patient ratio of 1 : 3 Rotating 12-hour night shifts (19 : 00 – 07 : 00), with variable day / night scheduling possible Requires floating to pediatric transplant, PEDS, and PICU units as needed Scheduled for six weekend shifts over a six-week period Uses the Cerner EMR system Responsibilities include direct care for critically ill neonates in a Level III NICU setting Must be flexible with rapidly changing shift assignments and floating to related pediatrics units Scrubs are not provided; any color is acceptable except white or see-through, and no other hospital logos Required to complete pre-start modules and orientation, averaging 12 hours and up to 4 billable hours Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate RTO during contract not approved for more than 8 days; three or more absences will result in contract termination Candidates may not be interviewed by manager prior to placement Holiday and weekend coverage as assigned by the unit Requirements Active DC RN license required prior to start or proof of pending status at time of consideration Minimum of two years of Level III NICU RN experience required NRP certification required BSN preferred First-time travelers accepted if minimum NICU experience is met Two supervisor references required Return staff must have been separated from prior employment for at least one year Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-617436.
