Claims Associate

The Claims Associate is primarily responsible for supporting existing clients and the Commercial Lines team through claim reporting and other key tasks directly related to the service of clients and client needs. Additionally, the Claims Associate will have a critical role in supporting service initiatives designed to differentiate Cross Insurance in the industry.

Duties of the Claims Associate include, but are not limited to :

  • Take new claim reports via phone and email, report to the correct insurance carrier or instruct the client on steps to report the claim directly.
  • Assist the Client with understanding the Claim process and identify what information is necessary to expedite the adjustment process.
  • Maintain electronic files on all claims utilizing the Agency Management System.
  • Support and promote Cross Claim Service initiatives / programs that deliver value to clients.
  • Follow-up on claims reported to secure claim and adjuster information.
  • Respond to phone and email inquiries from clients and colleagues in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Secure Loss Runs as requested by Commercial Lines Account Managers, Account Executives, or Producers.
  • Loss Runs should be provided in both Excel and PDF formats, as available.
  • Annual loss runs for most accounts, and more frequently for Key Accounts.
  • Provide to colleagues and clients as appropriate.
  • All loss data is expected to be attached to the client file in AMS.
  • Review and sort all claim correspondence directed to the Claims Department. Document and attach to AMS as appropriate.
  • Successfully develop and maintain long term positive relationships with insurance carriers, clients, Producers, Account Managers, and leadership within the Cross Agency Team.
  • Learn and comply with all Cross Insurance policies and procedures.
  • Attend and complete any training sessions or assignments.
  • Continuous Education to further build technical knowledge that enhances effective conversations with clients and adjusters, as required.
