Job Title : Aftercare Monitor (Hourly)

Location : Notre Dame Elementary School – Chardon, OH

Schedule : Monday – Friday, 2 : 00 PM – 6 : 00 PM

Status : Part-Time, Hourly

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise students in a safe and caring environment from 2 : 00 PM to 6 : 00 PM on school days.
  • Lead and monitor age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Provide homework assistance as needed.
  • Maintain discipline and manage student behavior in accordance with school policies.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Assist with check-in / check-out procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized aftercare space.
  • Report any concerns regarding students or program operations to the appropriate staff or administration.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in education or child development preferred.
  • Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting is highly desirable.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and flexible.
  • Ability to manage groups of children in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must pass background checks, Virtus trained, and meet state requirements for working with children.

    • Physical Requirements

    Must be able to actively engage with children, including sitting on the floor, standing for extended periods, and light physical activity (e.g., outdoor play supervision).
