As an Occupational Therapist at Carle Health, you will not only evaluate and treat patients but also serve as a role model and clinical resource for staff and students. What You'll Do

In this dynamic role, you will :

  • Perform Patient Transfers : Safely assist patients from bed, chair, and floor, demonstrating excellent body mechanics.
  • Design Care Plans : Create tailored plans that integrate goals, treatments, and discharge strategies, adjusting as needed based on patient responses.
  • Educate : Provide valuable education to patients, families, caregivers, and fellow healthcare providers using effective teaching methods.
  • Evaluate Clinical Findings : Determine diagnoses and outcomes through thorough examinations and screenings.
  • Document Care : Maintain accurate records of evaluations, treatment plans, and patient responses in line with department policies.
  • Collaborate : Work closely with patients, families, and the medical team throughout the rehabilitation process.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you’ll need :

  • Education : A Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Licensure : Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) in Illinois and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Continuing Education : Commitment to ongoing education, especially regarding acute stroke patient care.
