  • Pay Rate : Rate may vary due to local or non-local contracted rates : $ 75-80 combined Rate of pay. ( Pay packages are a combination of taxable hourly rates, tax free allowances for travel, housing, and meal allowances)
  • Additional bonuses are available.

RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLGIST / RAD TECH

  • Prepare patients

    • Take a patient's medical history, explain the procedure, and position the patient and equipment to take the image

  • Operate equipment

    • Use computerized and manual equipment to take images, such as X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, fluoroscopy, or sonography

    Certification Requirements

  • ARRT
  • BLS

    St. Luke's is a 532-bed hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It was founded in 1884 as Cedar Rapids’ first hospital and is now one of two hospitals in Cedar Rapids, the other being Mercy Medical Center. St. Luke's emergency department treats over 55,000 patients each year and the most cases of trauma in Iowa.

  • Evaluate images

    • Review the images to ensure they are clear enough for a doctor to diagnose

  • Document patient care

    • Record patient medical histories, enter patient data into computers, and maintain patient records

  • Communicate with patients and doctors

    • Explain procedures and test results to patients, and inform doctors of patient conditions

  • Protect patients and staff

    • Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff, and follow infection control policies

  • Assist with other tasks

    • Help with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and restocking supplies
