Take a patient's medical history, explain the procedure, and position the patient and equipment to take the image
Use computerized and manual equipment to take images, such as X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, fluoroscopy, or sonography

St. Luke's is a 532-bed hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It was founded in 1884 as Cedar Rapids’ first hospital and is now one of two hospitals in Cedar Rapids, the other being Mercy Medical Center. St. Luke's emergency department treats over 55,000 patients each year and the most cases of trauma in Iowa.
Review the images to ensure they are clear enough for a doctor to diagnose
Record patient medical histories, enter patient data into computers, and maintain patient records
Explain procedures and test results to patients, and inform doctors of patient conditions
Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff, and follow infection control policies
Help with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and restocking supplies
