Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $56,700 - $60,750

General Surgeon Job Details

Location : Hot Springs National Park, AR 71913 (Arkansas general surgery jobs)

Setting : Hospital rounds and call coverage

Employment Type : Locum tenens (travel contract)

Start Date : December 24, 2025 (7am)

End Date : January 2, 2026 (7am)

Shift : 24-hour rotating call shifts

Estimated Hours per Week : 36

Support Staff : 3 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)

Electronic Medical Record : EPIC

General Surgeon Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery

Active Arkansas medical license or willingness to obtain (Arkansas surgeon jobs)

ACLS and BLS certifications required

Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in general surgery

Clean malpractice history preferred

Availability for the full holiday coverage period

General Surgeon Responsibilities

Hospital rounding and 24-hour call coverage for surgical patients

Performing a variety of surgical procedures : gallbladder, hernia, colorectal, surgical oncology, endocrine surgery, endoscopy (upper and lower), and minimally invasive / laparoscopic surgeries

Managing trauma cases in a Level II trauma center, including vascular repairs for penetrating traumas

Responding to 10-20 calls per night, primarily pediatric cases (traumas transferred to specialized centers as needed)

Collaborating with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and hospital staff to ensure high-quality clinical care
