Overview
The Asset Protection Specialist is primarily responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud and supporting safety and environmental program compliance in their assigned store / multiple stores. They utilize tools to minimize loss to the Company, including identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV and exception reports, monitoring the store's physical security, auditing the Electronic Article Surveillance, and driving a shrink elimination culture in the store. They also prepare accurate and detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries, preserve evidence, interact with law enforcement, and testify in criminal and civil court actions.
Responsibilities
- Identify and document incidents of theft and fraud
- Review CCTV footage and exception reports to detect loss events
- Monitor store physical security and audit Electronic Article Surveillance systems
- Drive shrink elimination initiatives within the store
- Prepare accurate and detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries
- Preserve evidence and coordinate with law enforcement
- Testify in criminal and civil court actions as required
- Report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty
- Carry out responsibilities in a manner that minimizes risk of injury to self, associates, vendors, customers, and the Company
- Demonstrate integrity at all times and respond to asset protection and operational concerns
- Remain focused on store-specific business objectives while supporting asset protection and operational responsibilities
