Corporate (M&A / Private Equity)

  • Practice Area : Corporate – Mergers & Acquisitions / Private Equity
  • Location : San Francisco, CA
  • Schedule : Onsite or Hybrid per firm policy; full-time with standard AmLaw 20 billable hour requirements (~2,000+ annually)
  • Salary : Estimated base range of $260,000 to $420,000 with discretionary annual bonuses tied to performance and firm success.

The San Francisco office is deeply connected to the technology, healthcare, and growth capital ecosystems, handling some of the most significant transactions in the market.

Description :

In this role, you will advise on the acquisition and sale of companies, private equity investments, recapitalizations, and complex joint ventures. Responsibilities include negotiating purchase and ancillary agreements, leading diligence processes, and managing closing logistics for multi-jurisdictional deals. You will also counsel portfolio companies and corporate clients on governance and operational matters. The position offers high-profile transaction experience, a client-facing role from the outset, and a defined pathway toward senior associate and partnership opportunities.

Qualifications :

  • JD from an accredited law school; CA Bar admission or eligibility to obtain promptly.
  • Preferred class years : 2018–2022 (mid-level) or 2015+ (senior lateral).
  • Strong experience in private equity and M&A deal execution.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of managing concurrent complex transactions independently.
  • Tech-sector or growth company deal experience highly valued.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and business acumen.
