Since 1963, Sheakley has been a leader in safety management outsourcing. We are seeking an experienced Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to oversee safety operations for our client in Ft. Campbell, KY. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive safety professional with a strong construction background to make a lasting impact on a high-profile federal project.
Position Details
Hourly Rate : $50 / hr (overtime after 40)
Per Diem : None
Completion Bonus : $150 / month
Pay Frequency : Weekly
Schedule : Monday – Friday | 50 hrs / week | 5-10s
Project Scope
This project involves the complete renovation of an existing VOLAR Barracks facility at Ft. Campbell, KY. Work includes :
Interior renovation
Roof replacement
Exterior window / storefront replacement
Utility infrastructure upgrades
Sidewalks, grading, and crawlspace work
Expansion of the base PV array
The SSHO will be responsible for overseeing all site safety operations throughout these phases.
Qualifications
EM 385 1-1 certification
3–5 years of experience on USACE / NAVFAC sites
24hr Fall Protection (preferred)
CPR / First Aid (preferred)
Confined Space & HAZWOPER experience (preferred)
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
Support incident investigations, reporting, and corrective action implementation
Deliver safety training and orientation for employees, subcontractors, and new hires
Collaborate with project teams to proactively identify and mitigate risks
Maintain accurate safety performance, incident, and compliance documentation
Promote a safety-first culture across all project levels

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Professionalism and discretion with sensitive information
Knowledge
In-depth understanding of EHS and industry regulatory standards
Ability to effectively communicate safety principles and enforce compliance
