Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (AWS + Networking)

We are currently partnered with a digital consultancy that is looking for a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer for a leading energy client. This position starts as a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and is based in Knoxville, Tennessee. Occasional travel onsite may be required.

Job Description :

As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (AWS + Networking), you will be responsible for designing, automating, and optimizing secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud environments. This role demands deep expertise in cloud networking, infrastructure as code, and DevOps automation, with strong hands-on experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP. You will collaborate with engineering teams, product owners, and business stakeholders to enable cloud adoption, ensure compliance, and accelerate digital transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities :

• Architect and implement cloud infrastructure solutions, ensuring scalability, resiliency, and security across global environments.
• Set up and automate cloud networking in AWS, including Security Groups, Network ACLs, and subnet management (CIDR / IP address management).
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and integrate with service catalogs (e.g., ServiceNow, Backstage) to enable self-service application deployments.
• Define and enforce network configuration best practices, including Security Groups vs. NACL usage.
• Collaborate with platform and application engineering teams to capture requirements and deliver optimized cloud environments.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates to achieve consistent, repeatable deployments.
• Establish monitoring, logging, and cost optimization frameworks to improve cloud observability and efficiency.
