Were growing and looking for a full-time Senior Staff Accountant to join our team on-site in beautiful Indian River County. In this role, youll play a key part in reviewing and supporting the work of our Staff Accountants, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and insight for our clients. Youll still manage some monthly bookkeeping directly, but your primary responsibility will be review, quality control, and providing higher-level support for onboarding, tax prep, and client advisory alongside our Accounting & Tax Managers.

What Youll Do

  • Review Staff Accountant bookkeeping and monthly deliverables to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to firm processes.
  • Manage a select group of client accounts, handling bookkeeping, payroll, and reconciliations directly where needed.
  • Ensure all client deliverables are accurate and on time (monthly deadlines of 40% by the 12th, 75% by the 19th, and 95% by the 25th).
  • Maintain a production rate of $300 / hour and support at least $400,000 in annual billing.
  • Support onboarding and back work for new clients, ensuring books are clean and ready to go live.
  • Prepare and assist with tax projections, quarterly client meetings, and preparation of business, personal, and trust tax returns.
  • Communicate with clients clearly and promptly (response time within 24 hours).
  • Continue developing expertise in systems and services, leading at least one internal training per quarter.

  • Have 35+ years of accounting experience (public or private).
  • Are QuickBooks Online savvy (ProAdvisor a plus!).
