This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Power Systems Engineer III in the United States .

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and modernization of the electrical grid. The Power Systems Engineer III will conduct advanced modeling, analysis, and technical studies for transmission planning, generator interconnection, and reliability assessments. You will work closely with engineering teams to ensure compliance with NERC standards, evaluate system impacts, and support renewable and storage resource integration. The position combines hands-on power system analysis with technical reporting, collaboration across client projects, and participation in industry working groups. You will help guide decision-making for transmission system planning, troubleshoot complex system issues, and contribute to innovative energy solutions. The role also includes professional growth opportunities in a collaborative and forward-looking engineering environment.

Accountabilities

As a Power Systems Engineer III, you will :

  • Perform power system impact studies, including steady state, short circuit, and dynamic stability analyses.
  • Conduct NERC-compliance-related technical analyses, such as TPL-001-4 Annual Planning Assessments.
  • Complete full generator interconnection studies, including Sub-Synchronous Resonance (SSR) and Voltage Ride-Through (VRT) assessments for renewable and storage projects.
  • Participate in ERCOT working group meetings and assist in case building efforts on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare detailed technical study reports and maintain study data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned projects while meeting quality and budget objectives.
  • Identify training needs and provide guidance to support engineering team development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support project and team success.

Requirements

Candidates should have :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with an emphasis in power systems.
  • 2–4+ years of experience as a power systems engineer.
  • Hands-on experience performing power system impact studies, including dynamic stability, load flow, steady state, and short circuit analyses.
  • Proficiency with power systems software such as PSS / E, PSCAD, ASPEN, and TARA.
  • Experience with automation or programming in Python to streamline analysis processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for preparing reports, presenting results, and collaborating with teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
