Randall Mechanical is currently seeking a top-tier Sheetmetal Ductwork Estimator to work on projects planned throughout Florida and the US Virgin Islands . We are excited about this important role and are determined to consider the best and brightest candidates who meet our requirements.

Position Summary

Our Sheetmetal Ductwork Estimators are responsible for estimating costs for sheet metal fabrication and onsite installation projects, working closely with clients to understand their requirements, and providing accurate project quotes. Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, materials, and cost structures is critical for this role. A keen ability to perform on-screen construction drawing take-offs is imperative. Knowledge of installation site conditions and processes is critical for this role.

Experience Required

  • 5+ years of estimating the costs of fabricating and installing HVAC systems on very large-scale, commercial and industrial construction projects.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for sheet metal fabrication projects by performing complex on-screen take-offs and determining installation costs by understanding job site conditions and schedules.
  • Review and understand job specifications and architectural drawings.
  • Work closely with clients and project managers to understand the criteria required to meet project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all estimates and relevant project data, including revisions and updates.
  • Ensure project estimates include all necessary materials, labor, equipment, and delivery.
  • Assist in the negotiation and securing of contracts as required.
  • Identify potential cost advantages and efficiencies.
  • Identity potential cost overruns and potential issues.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, materials costs, and competitor pricing.

    • Desired Qualification Requirements

  • Highly proficient utilizing estimating software (Quote Express and Quote Soft).
  • Highly proficient with complex on-screen take offs.
  • High School / Higher Education diploma required.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Suite (Excel) and Bluebeam.
  • Communication skills (can speak to people in a professional environment).
  • Strong English language ability required, bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred.
  • Time conscious (can be on time and efficient).
  • Demonstrate dependability, flexibility, and teamwork.
  • Ability to pass drug screen and background check.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety procedures.
  • Ability to work well with others.

    • Physical Requirements

    This is primarily an office position and, as such, you must be able to sit up to six or more hours in an eight-hour workday, lift light objects such as files and paperwork frequently during the day, and objects weighing up to 10 pounds occasionally during the day. You must also be able to bend, stretch, crouch, and lift as required by the job.
